Let’s talk about the exercise we did in the last class. We studied about the genetic, the DNA and what is caused by DNA. Indeed, each person of the world is unique, we don’t have the same parents, we are more than 7 milliards of people in the world. We are different of our neighbor but in the same time, we are identic. Why can we say that? We have two legs, two hands, two eyes, one mouth. So, we are identic in the scientific definition, we are identic as 99,9% of our neighbor. The only difference is microscopic, it’s about our DNA. In this English class, we are Chinese, Thai, Colombian, African or French, there is a big open-minded about our origin.
Different signs with the same meaning Later, we did an exercise about different groups and how can we classify them with one element of nature for each group: fire, water, earth, sun and air. All students of this class began in the same way, to meet one or two people to work with them and find the solution, easier. What we understood after few minutes is we need people and we can’t success without help. At this way, we continued to talk with others and we noted that we have to be organized thankful to our messy, we were too dispersed. During this exercise, no leader was found, just few people continued to work and work.
At the end, we understood that people/element has his/its family. It exists a lot of culture and we can’t judge one of them, because we don’t know well those cultures. Those cultures have the same subject, for example fire and their people will don’t use at the same way to success to have fire.
To conclude, this exercise learns about us and about others, a lot of things and break prejudices. As far I’m concerned, I like this subject even if at the beginning I didn’t understand why we were talking about that.
I choose this symbol because it represents me at 100%. I come from France, the Eiffel Tower is its main symbol. Its pillars represent my family and friends. This is the first time I've been away so long and so much. The floors represent my personality when people get to know me. You have to climb the stairs so that I can trust and discover who I really am. The Eiffel Tower seems cold and rigid from the outside, but inside you discover when you climb the stairs that it is a monument that deserves to be known, it’s me. You never know when you've reached the highest floor, and you can stop quickly to get down quickly. I am difficult to really know but I give my true trust to people who will not give up on me, or so I hope. This symbol represents me by my pillars, my personality but also by my French origin.
