For my first weekend with my second host Family I went for a run with them, we ran in the battery and downtown Charleston that was really nice! The funny thing is that you could run dressed and Bryan (my new host dad) had a Santa Claus costume! Stephanie, Ella and I wore the antlers reindeer. The Run was 5k and all the donations were given to MUSC children's Hospital.

North Charleston ice skating

Ice Skating

The day after I met catheline at her house and we spend a really good weekend! Three other students exchange students also came and we all went to ice skating. It was really funny because we were together and it's been a long time since the last time we did ice skating for some of us. But it was the first time for Jessica (from Peru) so we helped her to do not fall! I think she liked it but she was really tired at the end!

With all the inbounds of our District we went to a Disney trip for four days, one day for each park! For me the trip started the Wednesday the 6th, because I went to Catheline's house and Ambre (from France, Lyon) met us also over there. We had so much fun when at 3am we started to make pancakes before leaving, it was so funny but I was so tired after that!

After 6 hours by car we finally arrived at the hotel, and over there we met the other students exchange from the district of Florida and Georgia. It was really cool to find other people from France and Belgium!

We spend our day in the Animal Kingdom Park, and thanks to Ambre we did one of the best ride twice without doing the lane, she is really persuasive! The ride was in the world of Avatar, we were all flying together in their world, if you are going to Disney you have to go to this attraction!

The second day was the most magical! The morning we had a meeting with a guide and he explained us some science stuffs but I have to tell you that I don't really remember what he was talking about...

We spend a wonderful day, we took our time and walked all around the park. We met some other exchange student over there. And I got to say that this Disney experience was really different from the one I did with my family in Disneyland Paris because I was with my friends and we were not running everywhere to try to do the most rides we could! And I really enjoyed that!

This day was awesome! I don't know how I can explain how I felt when I was at Epcot! It was amazing, just try to imagine that you are an exchange student who is in a host country and that finally find a little representation of his home country after four months living there. And having the chance to make your friends discovering your culture. Guess which city they represented for France? Paris!

They built a big building representing "Les Halles de Paris" and we could buy bread or pastries. I could talk in French with the waiters because they all come from France, that was fantastic!

We spend time in the German town, they had some shops and Hannah (Germany), Priscilla and Kevin (Switzerland) ate some german food over there it was so funny to see them eating the foods they are missing from their home country. We ate in an Italien restaurant with all the exchange students, it was so funny, we had a really good time and Michi and Federico could speak with the waiters too! We took the dessert in France, we ate macarons, croissant, paint au chocolat... Awesome! So many memories!

We had a really long day because we had to meet all the others exchange students from the district of Florida and Georgia to do a picture, having dinner together, and to watch the fireworks at night.

I went with my host family to see the Night of 1000 Lights, it was so pretty! It was really nice because I could talk to my family and know them a little bit more. I have nothing else to say... --'

Before the Christmas break, Stephanie, Bryan, Ella and I went see a famous musical play at the theater of Charleston. The name of the play is "A Christmas Carol", I was surprised when at the end of the play I could understand most of the story. It was really good and every song were really good. Most important, the story was funny.

That day I went to Catheline's house to make a gingerbread house with her host sister, that was really funny, the house almost fell because it was really difficult to keep it straight!

The evening, Kevin (Switzerland) invited the exchange student to come for a pizza party, it was awesome to see them again around Christmas time!

In America the Christmas decoration is starting the weekend right after Thanksgiving, at the end of November. It really surprised me because at home we are usually a little bit late each time we are decorating the house.

There were decorations all around the city, the houses almost every porch had lamps or other decoration on it (I tried to take some picture but it is not that good in the dark). In one of the hotel of Charleston there was a train, it was really cute to watch the train moving around!

I moved to my second family right after Thanksgiving, but I was able to decorate the Christmas tree with the Ulmer, and it was a really nice time! The day after Thanksgiving we had dinner all together, Ansley and Alex came back for the holiday, I had a really good time at this dinner! When we came back we started to decorate the tree and everybody helped to put something on the tree.

In the month of December I spend a lot of time at Catheline second host mom' house, and I could also help her for the decoration. Her house was so cute and I really enjoyed helping her! (It is the three first pictures)

Now is the time to tell you one of the mot exciting moment during my exchange: Christmas! I think every Christmas is different depending on the family and the tradition they have. My family was really simple, so we spent time with their family. The 24th we all went to Bryan's mom house, I met his family but also Stephanie's sister. It was nice I met her nephew, Easton, he is really cute, he's only 6 or 7 so he didn't really understand why I was speaking differently.

The next day Stephanie invited her sister at home and we opened the present. At the end of the afternoon we all went to the Festival of Lights in James Island. It was really cute! And to finish a really good day we ate at Waffle House, it began their new Christmas tradition, going to the Festival of Light and eating at Waffle House after!

I had a really good weekend so I wanted to share it with y'all! It first started with a pedicure with Karen. She invited me and it was my first time that I was doing that! I also played ping-pong with Ella, it was really funny because it wasn't a good table and I have to say that we were not that good too! But I really had a good time with her!

I invited Priscilla and Jessica to celebrate the weekend of the new year's eve with us. For that we cooked some recipes from our home countries. Jessica cooked an entree from Peru with some potatoes, avocado and spices in it and Priscilla cooked a Swiss dish. I made crepes for the desert, it was sooo good! I think everybody enjoyed it even if it took a while to cook it!

I have to say that I spend a really good New Year's eve! We had so much fun! We started our day by walking the dog to the beach. As you can see it was not a really good weather...

At night we went downtown because we heard that some food truck were suppose to come but because it was too cold they didn't come so we all went in Mellow Mushroom. With Priscilla we were so happy because when we tried the cheese of the appetizer it tasted so much like the "Fondu"!!!

When we came back we all made some smores in the dark of the night near to the big fire. And when it was about 11:45pm Stephanie drove us at the beach to celebrate the New Year! It was awesome! You can't imagine how we had so much fun! We screamed the countdown and we saw every tiny fireworks on the horizon that reflected on the water! It was fabulous and so pretty!
